I love the contrast between the foreground cottage and the distant town. The distant town looks more modern than the little cottage, but both fit together perfectly and look part of a define style.
The use of fauna in the foreground and space in the background is a beautiful contrast, and I love the negative-space silhouette of the sun/moon in the sky created by the clouds.
The fact that it isn't actually a crescent moon and is instead only an implied shape makes it feel much more natural.
The limited palette is beautiful, but I wouldn't mind seeing a coloured version of this, too.
The tonal contrast is near perfect.
The only critique I'd have is how the background is still quite detailed. Having the background slightly less detailed would drag more attention to the middleground/foreground, but this is just a personal style preference.
What the O_O I lost count about how many times I thought, looking at your works, "This guy really should work for a videogame company!", a Final Fantasy, or a Elder's Scroll game would look so cool with your landscapes!

All in all - fantastic piece.
